Bio

I grew up in Florida, Missouri, and Alabama with my two older sisters, younger brother, and my parents. I love my family and am always looking forward to the next time we can all get together, which is often at Walt Disney World! I also have a puppy named Pippin that I got this year!

Over the course of my K-12 education, I experienced private, home, and public schooling. My favorite subject has always been reading and English, and you will never find me without a book! In fact, there are several family photos of me- as a child, teenager, and adult, at sporting events, concerts, and parties- sitting and reading with a book in my lap or in front of my nose. I love stories, and I grew up knowing I wanted to tell them and share my love of reading and writing with the next generation. That love of stories also led me to theatre, where I spent much of my time as a teenager and young adult both on and off stage, and I have had the pleasure of teaching theatre and helping to lead the drama club at my previous teaching position at Dothan High School. I have a bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama in Theatre and English, and I will be completing my master’s degree in secondary ELA later this year. I have five years of full time teaching experience in both the Enterprise and Dothan City School districts, and I am excited to join the NBHS Gamecock team this year!
